Affiliate & sponsorship disclosure

We may earn commissions from some product links, and we may sell labelled directory or education placements. That never buys fake urgency, silent rankings, or regulatory cover.

How affiliates work here

Some product links (for example hardware wallets on the wallets pillar and hardware wallet guide) may include referral parameters. If you purchase through those links, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

When no referral URL is configured in the environment, buttons and links fall back to the vendor’s official site (for example trezor.io, ledger.com, bitbox.swiss). We do not invent affiliate IDs.

Affiliate relationships are commercial. They are not a lab endorsement, security audit, or “buy this device” recommendation. Educational only. Not financial advice. Not an FSP/CASP. DYOR.

How to recognise a commercial link

  • Purchase buttons that use an active affiliate URL use rel="sponsored" and are disclosed on the page.
  • Directory rows with Sponsored badges are paid placements — separate from affiliate commissions.
  • Footer and legal pages point here so the disclosure is never buried.

Directory sponsorships

Paid listings are labelled with a visible Sponsored badge. Sponsorship does not purchase a Reviewed verification badge, a custody product, swap UI, or personalized advice on this site. See /sponsors for placement tiers (prices TBD) and /directory for the live list.

What we will not do

  • Invent scarcity countdowns or “buy now or regret it” copy.
  • Hide sponsored directory listings.
  • Pretend an affiliate relationship is a neutral lab endorsement when it is commercial.
  • Recommend assets as investments in order to monetize clicks.
  • Route visitor funds, custody tips for third parties, or wire PayFast / swap CPA flows on this brand’s educational core.
