Dark CryptoDecentral hex mesh with eight quiet teal and bronze status beacons on a faint radar sweep — no text, charts, or UI.

Same eight projects every Monday. Did the software you run ship, and is it a security release? Mechanism only; no rankings.

Window: tags and releases published 26 Oct to 2 Nov 2026 (SAST, UTC+2). Verified on upstream GitHub release and tag pages, the projects' own release notes, bitcoincore.org and git.rust-bitcoin.org.

  1. Bitcoin Core: maintenance releases v31.2, v30.4 and v29.5 (signed tags 26–27 Oct; published with v32.1 on 28 Oct, about 16:25). They backport v32.1's fixes for paused-peer send timeouts, socket monitoring and 64-bit block-file positions; 31.2 and 30.4 also reserve version bits 5–28 under BIP 323, and 31.2 caps the private-broadcast queue at 10,000 transactions. The 32.1 notes put 29.x at end of life. Not labelled a security release.
  2. Core Lightning: no release this week (releases; newest is v26.06.9 from 7 Oct).
  3. LND: security releases v0.21.6-beta and v0.20.7-beta (31 Oct, 01:21 and 00:37). Upstream labels them a mitigation for CVE-2026-98432, a Linux kernel TCP use-after-free whose demonstrated exploit needs a Multipath TCP listener: lnd no longer opens MPTCP listeners by default. The notes say the kernel patch is the only fix and that Windows and macOS are unaffected. Earlier, v0.21.5-beta and v0.20.6-beta (27 Oct, 20:20) fixed a SQLite connection-pool deadlock, capped external fee estimates at 10,000 sat/vB and tightened revocation and taproot-channel signature checks.
  4. LDK (rust-lightning): no release this week (primary repository, mirrored to GitHub; newest tags, v0.3-rc3, v0.2.7 and v0.1.13, are from 2 Oct).
  5. Ollama: v0.40.12 (27 Oct, 02:07) added Liquid AI's LFM3 small-model family and 2B d1 decision models on Apple hardware, faster Apple-silicon prompt processing and updated MLX and llama.cpp; v0.40.13 (28 Oct, 21:55) brought LFM3 to Linux and Windows.
  6. nostr-protocol/nips: no tagged release this week; NIPs are merged continuously (repository).
  7. Autonomi: no release this week (ant-node releases; newest is v0.23.1 from 22 Oct).
  8. Monero: no release this week (releases; newest is v0.18.5.4 from 17 Oct).

Lines with no release stay in the list on purpose, so you can compare one week's list with the next. Feature essays remain Wed/Fri; the Monday OSS AI special is separate.
